Matthew Waller was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, alongside his older sister, Maria, by his parents, Jackie and Tom. He grew up in a Christian home and attended Temple Baptist School and Temple Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ as his Savior during his freshman year of high school, a decision that continues to shape his life and calling.
After high school, Matthew attended Maranatha Baptist University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in ministry and education, along with a minor in coaching. During his time there, he served as head coach for the Maranatha Baptist Academy soccer team and as an assistant coach for the university’s soccer program. These roles strengthened both his leadership skills and his passion for mentoring young people.
Matthew also spent two summers serving at Cobeac Summer Camp, where his desire to impact and counsel young lives deepened significantly. Through discipleship, encouragement, and intentional relationships, he developed a growing burden to help guide young men toward Christ-centered growth.
In February 2026, Matthew joined the Victory staff as a Counseling Assistant and Classroom Aide. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve in a ministry dedicated to helping teen boys find hope and direction in Christ. Matthew’s passion lies in counseling, discipleship, and walking alongside young men during pivotal seasons of life. He is committed to serving faithfully and giving God the glory for the work He accomplishes.
